"Lots of harp plays along with gentle wood block beats and some Knopfleresque bass guitar work" -Acid Ted on "Albatross."
Uhuru Peak, is a music project started by Cameron Caceres, in 2010. As a trained bassist in jazz performance and music theory, he has ventured in combing the two with electronic music.
Since 2011, he has composed three EP's, one LP and has a sophomore album, "Graphite Dream Room," in the works and is due in 2018.
As a performer, he has played numerous shows; one of them being with the infamous Daedelus. As a collaborator, he has worked with Tru Thoughts, for the Seshen's track "Turn", from the album "Unravel Remixes," which was featured on BBC6, with the legendary reggae icon, Don Letts. His track Early Bird, was also featured on BBC1, with the musically ambiguous, Giles Peterson.
In the end, his main motive is to progress electronic music, while maintaining respect to the past and current masters of music. He thrives on having a constant flow of creation to accommodate his need to do so; just like the masters of the both past and present.
